Air Cleaner Assembly: Installation

  1. Install the air cleaner assembly by pressing downward until the grommets are seated.
  2. Connect the MAF/IAT sensor electrical connector. Install the outlet resonator to the MAT/IAT sensor.
  3. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the MAF/IAT sensor. Tighten the clamp to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .


CAUTION: If the MAF/IAT sensor is installed backwards, the fuel system goes rich. An arrow cast into the plastic portion of the sensor indicates proper air flow direction. The arrow must point toward the engine.
  1. If necessary, install the MAF/IAT sensor and tighten the MAF/IAT clamp to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Position the air cleaner assembly onto the air cleaner adaptor. Push down on the air cleaner assembly in order to secure the assembly to the adaptor.
  3. Connect the MAF/IAT sensor electrical connector. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. See AIR CLEANER RESONATOR OUTLET DUCT .
