Fuel Pressure Dampener (2.2L): Removal

  1. The fuel pressure dampener is located on the end of the fuel rail. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the outlet resonator/duct assembly. See AIR CLEANER OUTLET RESONATOR/DUCT ASSEMBLY  under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS.
  2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  . Disconnect Gauge Bar Set (SA9127E) after pressure has been released (if using the without scan tool method of releasing fuel pressure).
  3. Remove the fuel dampener bolts. See Figure . Remove the fuel pressure dampener and "O" ring seals. Visually inspect the seals for cuts, nicks, or flatness. Replace as necessary.
