Fuel System

  1. Check the fuel system circuits for proper operation. Go to FUEL PUMP ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT DIAGNOSIS (ALERO & GRAND AM) or FUEL PUMP ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT DIAGNOSIS (IMPALA & MONTE CARLO) under FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTS - 3.4L ALERO, GRAND AM, IMPALA & MONTE CARLO article.
  2. Check for low fuel pressure. Go to FUEL SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS under FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTS - 3.4L ALERO, GRAND AM, IMPALA & MONTE CARLO article.
  3. Check for faulty fuel injectors. Go to FUEL INJECTOR CIRCUIT DIAGNOSIS , FUEL INJECTOR BALANCE TEST WITH SPECIAL TOOL or FUEL INJECTOR BALANCE TEST WITH TECH 2 under FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - 3.4L ALERO, GRAND AM, IMPALA & MONTE CARLO article.
  4. Inspect for fuel in the pressure regulator vacuum hose.
  5. Ensure that each injector harness is connected to the correct injector/cylinder.
