Air Bag (Inflator) Module

  1. Disable SIR system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  . Remove lower column retaining screws. Remove upper column trim cover. Pull out tilt lever retaining pin, and remove tilt lever.
  2. Rotate steering wheel one 1/2 turn clockwise, in order to access inflator module screws. Remove screws using TORX driver. Remove inflator module. Remove connector position assurance (CPA) from inflator module electrical connector, and disconnect connectors. Disconnect horn ground lead from wheel, and remove. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten inflator module screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
