Wiper Arm: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Savana and 2002 Chevrolet Chevy Express. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Left and right wiper arm assemblies do not interchange from side to side. Wiper arms are stamped LH and RH for reference.
  1. Turn ignition switch to ACC position. Turn wiper switch to PULSE position. Turn ignition switch to OFF position when wipers stop at inner-wipe position. Install wiper arms with blades on wiper drive. While holding a measuring device perpendicular to windshield, measure between air inlet screen and wiper blade assembly.
  2. Measurement should be 2.76" (70 mm) for driver's side wiper and 2.56" (65 mm) for passenger's side wiper. Adjust distance as necessary. Install nut on wiper arm and tighten to 19 ft. lbs. (26 N.m). Install nut cover and washer fluid hose elbow. Ensure wiper/washers operate properly.
