Heated Oxygen Sensor: Installation
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Cadillac Seville and 2003 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- A special anti-seize compound is used on the oxygen sensor threads. The compound consists of a liquid graphite and glass beads. The graphite will burn away, but the glass beads will remain, making the sensor easier to remove. New sensors will have the compound applied to the threads.
- If a sensor is removed and is to be reinstalled, the threads must have an anti-seize compound applied before installation. Coat the threads of the HO2S with Anti-Seize Compound (5613695), if necessary.
- Install the rear oxygen sensor in the rear exhaust manifold and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect HO2S harness connector. Raise the frame. Install the 4 rear frame bolts. Tighten the frame bolts to specification. Lower vehicle.
