Crankshaft Position Sensor: Removal

  1. Locate the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor to be removed. See Figure. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the push in retainers from the front air deflector. Remove the front air deflector.
  2. Disconnect the engine oil cooler pipe fittings from the engine oil filter adapter, if equipped. Disconnect the electrical connector from the engine oil pressure switch. Remove the oil filter. Remove the 2 oil filter adapter mounting bolts. Remove the oil filter adapter and discard the "O" rings. Remove the CKP sensor electrical connector. Remove the CKP sensor retaining bolt. Remove the CKP sensor.
