Throttle Body: Cleaning

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Cadillac Seville and 2003 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Do not use any solvent that contains Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). This solvent may damage fuel system components.

Inspect the throttle body bore and throttle valve plate for deposits. Open the throttle valve to inspect all surfaces. Clean the throttle body bore and throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel with GM Top Engine Cleaner, (1052626) Canada (993026), or AC-Delco Carburetor Tune-Up Conditioner, (X66-P), or equivalent product.
