Oil Pump: Inspection

Using feeler gauge and straightedge, measure oil pump end play. Align inner and outer gear punch marks. Using feeler gauge, measure clearance between gear tips (punch marks). Using feeler gauge, measure clearance between outer gear and oil pump housing. See OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. If clearances are not within specification, replace oil pump rotor assembly or entire pump assembly as necessary.
