Heated Oxygen Sensor: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
The Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) uses a permanently attached pigtail and connector. Do not remove this pigtail from the HO2S. Damage or the removal of the pigtail or the connector could affect the proper operation of the sensor. Take care when handling the HO2S. Keep the in-line electrical connector and the louvered end free of grease, dirt, or other contaminants. Also avoid using cleaning solvents of any type. Do not drop the HO2S.
NOTE:
The oxygen sensor may be difficult to remove when the engine temperature is less than 120°F (48°C). Downstream HO2S may also be referred to as HO2S 2. Upstream HO2S may also be referred to as HO2S 1.
