Camshaft Position Sensor: Removal

Turn ignition off. Remove the power steering pump. See appropriate POWER RACK & PINION article in STEERING. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor electrical connector. See Figure . Remove the attaching bolt. Remove the CMP sensor. Inspect the sensor "O" ring for wear, cracks, or leakage if the sensor is not being replaced.
