WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Safari and 2003 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn ignition off. Ensure oxygen sensor is free of contaminants. DO NOT use cleaning solvents of any type. Oxygen sensor may be difficult to remove when engine temperature is above 120°F (48°C). Excessive removal force may damage threads in exhaust manifold or pipe.
- Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect harness connector from oxygen sensor. Carefully remove oxygen sensor from exhaust pipe using Oxygen Sensor Socket (J-39194-B).
