Throttle Body: Removal

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove engine cover. See ENGINE COVER  under MISCELLANEOUS. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner outlet duct from throttle body. Remove air cleaner outlet duct adapter stud.
  2. Disconnect accelerator control cable from throttle shaft. See Figure . Disconnect cruise control cable from throttle shaft (if equipped). See Figure . Remove transmission fluid filler tube-to-accelerator control cable bracket retaining bolt. Remove accelerator control cable bracket and position aside.
  3. Disconnect IAC valve and TP sensor harness connectors from throttle body. See Figure . Remove throttle body retaining studs. Remove throttle body assembly from intake manifold. See Figure . Remove flange gasket and discard.
