Rear Mount Bracket: Removal

- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Disconnect the stabilizer link from the stabilizer shaft. See Fig 1 .
- Remove the lower intermediate steering shaft pinch bolt. See Fig 2 . Discard the bolt.
- Disconnect the intermediate steering shaft from the steering gear.
- Disconnect the left outer tie rod from the steering knuckle. See appropriate FRONT article in SUSPENSION.
- Remove the steering gear mounting bolts. See Fig 3 .
- Secure the steering gear upward for clearance.
- Remove the rear transaxle mount. See REAR MOUNT .
- If equipped with FWD, remove the rear transaxle mount bracket to transaxle bolts. See Fig 4 .
- If equipped with AWD, remove the rear transaxle bracket to power takeoff bolts. See Fig 5 .
- Remove the rear transaxle mount bracket.
