Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor: Removal

  1. The MAP sensor is located at back of intake manifold. See Fig 1. Remove the fuel rail cover. See Fig 2. Remove the fuel rail assembly. See FUEL RAIL & INJECTORS  under FUEL SYSTEMS.
  2. Remove the PCV heat exchange cable nut. See Fig 3. Remove the PCV hose from the throttle body. Remove the PCV hose from the right cylinder bank port. Release the PCV hose assembly from the mounting brackets.
  3. Move the PCV hose assembly aside. Disconnect the MAP sensor harness connector. Pull the MAP sensor forward in order to release the sensor from the retainer. See Fig 4. Lift the MAP sensor upward.
