Crankshaft Position Sensor: Installation

  1. Install the CKP sensor. Install the CKP sensor retaining bolt. Tighten the CKP sensor bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
  2. Install the starter. Tighten starter mounting bolts to specification. Lower the vehicle. Connect the negative battery cable. Perform the CKP System Variation Learn Procedure. See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR  under PROGRAMMING.
  3. Check if keyless entry transmitters function properly. If battery was disconnected, transmitter may not communicate or may loose synchronization with the receiver. If transmitters do not function properly, reprogram transmitters. See KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER SYNCHRONIZATION  under PROGRAMMING.
