Camshaft Position Sensor: Removal

- The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor is located at top rear of cylinder block. See Figure. Turn ignition off. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the intake manifold. See appropriate article in ENGINES.
- Remove the CMP sensor electrical connector. Clean the area around the CMP sensor before removal in order to avoid debris from entering the engine. Remove the CMP sensor retaining bolt. Remove the CMP sensor.
