Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fuel rail cover See Figure. Disconnect the ignition coil harness connector. Disconnect the spark plug wire at the ignition coil. Remove the 2 ignition coil mounting bolts See Fig 1. Remove the ignition coil.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten ignition coil bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect the ignition coil harness connector. Tighten ignition coil harness bolt to specification.
  3. Check if keyless entry transmitters function properly. If battery was disconnected, transmitter may not communicate or may loose synchronization with the receiver. If transmitters do not function properly, reprogram transmitters. See KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER SYNCHRONIZATION  under PROGRAMMING.
