Removal (Right Sender)

  1. Remove the right fuel tank. See FUEL TANKS (WITH FEEDBACK FUEL SYSTEM) . Place the fuel tank on a suitable work surface.
  2. Disconnect the EVAP purge line from the fuel pump sender. See Figure. Disconnect the fuel pump sender harness connector. Disconnect the Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor harness connector. If replacing the fuel pump sender, remove the FTP sensor. Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor by carefully prying the sensor out of the fuel tank with a screwdriver. Disconnect the jet line insert connector from the crossover tube to fuel tank opening.
  3. The fuel pump sender is spring loaded and will spring upward when the locking ring is removed. Using the fuel sender lock ring tool, remove the fuel pump sender locking ring.
  4. Carefully remove the fuel pump sender from the fuel tank, with the jet lines connected. Take care not to damage the fuel sender float arm. Disconnect the jet line quick-connect connectors from the fuel pump sender, noting the location of the lines for installation. See FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGS . Remove the fuel pump sender "O" ring from the fuel tank opening. Remove the jet line insert through the crossover tube to fuel tank opening.
