Ignition System Checks

  1. Remove and inspect the spark plugs for wet plugs, cracks, wear, improper gap, burned electrodes or heavy deposits.
  2. Check for an open Ignition Control (IC) circuit.
  3. Check the spark plug wires for cracking, hardness and proper connections and routing.
  4. NOTE: More timing advance is required to operate the vehicle on CNG than on gasoline.
  5. Check for proper operation of the Knock Sensor system.
