Ride Too Hard

  1. Did you review the General Description and perform the necessary inspections? See DESCRIPTION  and VISUAL/PHYSICAL INSPECTION  . Go to next step.
  2. Verify that the ride is too hard. If ride is too hard, go to next step. If ride is not too hard, system is okay.
  3. Inspect the tires for the proper inflation pressure. If tires are not inflated properly, repair and check system for normal operation. If tires are inflated properly and ride is still too hard, go to next step.
  4. Inspect the vehicle trim height. See ELECTRONIC - LEVEL CONTROL. After completing trim height inspection and adjustment. If trim height is not correct, repair and recheck system for normal operation.
  5. Inspect springs, struts, and shock absorbers for damage or malfunction. See STRUTS/SHOCK ABSORBER  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION. Repair components as necessary and retest system for normal operation.
  6. Inspect the automatic level control system. See appropriate Electronic - Automatic Level Control - "G" BODY article. Repair as necessary.
  7. Road test vehicle to verify repair.
