Removal (3.1L)

  1. Recover the refrigerant. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Remove the left front fender upper diagonal brace. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  2. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut. See Fig 1. Disconnect the A/C compressor hose from the condenser. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut. Remove the A/C compressor hose from the accumulator.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the lower air deflector. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut from the A/C compressor. See Fig 2. Remove and discard all the used O-ring and sealing washers. Remove the A/C compressor hose from the A/C compressor.
