Installation (3.1L)

  1. Install the new sealing washers onto the A/C compressor hose assembly. Install the A/C compressor hose to the A/C compressor. Install the A/C compressor hose nut. Tighten the nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the lower air deflector. The new O-ring seals must be lubricated with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil. Install the new O-ring seal to the A/C compressor hose assembly. Install the A/C compressor hose to the accumulator.
  3. Install the A/C compressor hose nut to the accumulator. See Figure. Tighten the nut to specification. Install the A/C compressor hose to the condenser. Install the A/C compressor hose nut to the condenser. Tighten the nut to specification.
  4. Install the left front fender upper diagonal brace. Install the air cleaner assembly. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING.
