Removal & Installation: Accumulator: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Discharge A/C system, using approved refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment. See RECOVERY, EVACUATING & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Remove coolant recovery tank. Disconnect A/C lines from accumulator and plug openings.
  2. Disconnect electrical connector from low pressure sensor. Remove retaining nut and bolts and remove accumulator and bracket from vehicle. See Fig 1. Drain oil from accumulator into measuring container, and note amount for installation reference.
