Removal & Installation

Raise the vehicle. Remove the wheel/tire assembly. Remove the wheel hub and bearing. See REAR WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY . Remove the upper and lower ball joints. See appropriate article in SUSPENSIONS.
Remove the outer tie rod retaining nut and bracket. Disconnect the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using Steering Linkage Puller (J-24319-B). Fig 1 . Remove the park brake cable retaining bolt from the steering knuckle. Remove the steering knuckle from the vehicle.
To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Lower vehicle.
