Removal & Installation

- Raise the vehicle. Remove the wheel/tire assembly. Remove the wheel hub and bearing. See REAR WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY . Remove the upper and lower ball joints. See appropriate article in SUSPENSIONS.
- Remove the outer tie rod retaining nut and bracket. Disconnect the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using Steering Linkage Puller (J-24319-B). Fig 1 . Remove the park brake cable retaining bolt from the steering knuckle. Remove the steering knuckle from the vehicle.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Lower vehicle.
