Axle Shaft & Seal - Outer: Installation

- Clean axle shaft seal seat. Using appropriate seal installer, install the axle shaft seal. See Figure . Install the axle shaft. Install the spring loaded lock clip to the axle shaft end. Install the steering knuckle assembly. See STEERING KNUCKLE ASSEMBLY . Install the rear steering gear actuator and differential cover. See STEERING GEAR ACTUATOR & DIFFERENTIAL COVER .
- Install the wheel/tire assemblies. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Fill differential with lubricant. See LUBRICATION . Lower the vehicle.
