Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Buick Regal and 2002 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  Do not attempt repairs in order to correct lock discrepancies. Replace the lock.

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door .
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door .
  3. Remove the outside handle rod from the lock.
  4. Remove the inside handle rods from the handle.

  6. Remove the clip securing the inside handle rods to the door.
  7. Remove the door lock screws (1, 2, 3,) securing the lock to the door.
  8. Remove the lock from the door with the inside handle rods attached to the lock.

  9. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  11. Remove the inside handle rods from the lock.
