Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Buick Regal and 2002 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door .
  2. Remove the energy absorber pad. Refer to Energy Absorber Pad Replacement - Rear Door .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door .
  4. Use side cutters in order to cut off the outside handle rod-to-lock clip from the lock.

    Discard the clip.

  5. Unscrew the remainder of the clip from the outside handle rod.
  6. Remove the outside door handle bolts (3).
  7. Remove the door handle.
  8. Remove the handle (2) from the handle rod (1).
