Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Buick Regal and 2002 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Apply the parking brake.
  2. Position the transaxle shift lever to the LOW position.
  3. Remove the floor console trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Console Front .
  4. Remove the floor console rear compartment mat.

  5. Remove the floor console rear compartment bolts.

  7. Remove the floor console bracket bolts rearward of the transaxle shift lever.
  8. Remove the floor console horizontal bolts near the instrument panel (I/P).

  9. Remove the floor console power accessory port. Refer to Power Accessory Port Replace - Front Floor Console (D55)  or Power Accessory Port Replace - Front Floor Console (D06)  .
  10. Remove the floor console lighter. Refer to Cigar Lighter Replacement - Console .
  11. Disconnect the wiring harness from the floor console.

  12. Pull the floor console rearward in order to release the retainers from the I/P.

  13. Depress the front edge of the shifter trim plate in order to pull back the floor console for removal.

  14. Remove the floor console from the vehicle.
