Hub & Rotor Assembly: Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel/tire assembly. Remove caliper from mounting bracket, and wire aside. Remove axle shaft. See AXLE SHAFTS  .
  2. Bend up locking tang(s) from retaining lock nut. Using torque wrench and Wheel Bearing Nut Wrench Set (J-2222-C), remove wheel bearing outer retaining lock nut.
  3. Remove retaining ring. Remove lock or key. Remove inner adjusting nut and washer (if equipped). Slide hub and rotor assembly off axle shaft tube.
