Installation (VCIU)

  1. Record 11-digit ESN and 10-digit STID from label on new VCIM.
  2. Slide OnStar® VCIM into module bracket assembly until fully seated. Connect harness connectors.
  3. Connect antenna coaxial cable to VCIM until fully seated.
  4. Install TRUNK TRIM PANELS.
  5. Connect a scan tool to DLC. Select ONSTAR SETUP in SPECIAL FUNCTIONS menu.
  6. Move vehicle to an open area away from tall buildings, with a clear view of unobstructed sky. Allow vehicle to run for 10 minutes.
  7. Using scan tool, select ID INFORMATION menu to access new ESN and STID.
  8. Press blue OnStar® button to connect to OnStar® call center. Tell advisor vehicle has received a new VCIM. Ask advisor to update customer account with new ESN and STID. Follow any additional instructions from OnStar® advisor. Ask advisor to activate OnStar® personal calling feature, if available.
