Installation Procedure

  1. Position the flywheel and the reinforcement to the crankshaft.
  2. Fig 1: Installing Flywheel

  3. Apply sealant, GM P/N 12346004 or equivalent, to the flywheel mounting bolts.
    CAUTION: Refer toFASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Install the eight NEW mounting bolts.
    1. 3.1. First Pass

      Tighten 

      Tighten the flywheel mounting bolts to 15 N.m (11 ft lbs).

    2. 3.2. Final Pass

      Tighten the flywheel mounting bolts an additional 50 degrees using the J 36660-A  .

  5. Install the transaxle assembly. Refer to TRANSAXLE (4T80-E) .
