Hard Start: Sensor/System

- Check for an Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor that has shifted in value. Go to TEMPERATURE VS. RESISTANCE table.
- Check for proper operation of the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. Go to DTC P0105: MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - 2.2L ALERO, CAVALIER, GRAND AM & SUNFIRE - GASOLINE article. If no, system is okay at this time.
- Check for proper operation of the Throttle Position (TP) sensor. Go to DTC P0105: MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - 2.2L ALERO, CAVALIER, GRAND AM & SUNFIRE - GASOLINE article. If no, system is okay at this time.
- Test for proper operation of the Intake Air Control (IAC) valve. Go to IDLE AIR CONTROL SYSTEM under IDLE CONTROL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - 2.2L ALERO, CAVALIER, GRAND AM & SUNFIRE article.
