Removal (2.2L)

  1. Knock Sensor (KS) is located on side of cylinder block behind starter. See Fig 1 . Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the starter.
  4. Remove the starter bolts. Remove the starter.
  5. Disconnect the KS harness connector.
  6. Remove the KS retaining bolt.
  7. Remove the KS.
