Removal (2.2L)

NOTE: The numbers in parenthesis corresponds to numbered components in referenced illustrations.
  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.
  3. Disconnect the battery cables and remove the battery.
  4. Remove the relay center push in retainer.
  5. Disconnect the relay battery feed cable from the upper air cleaner cover retaining clips.
  6. Position the relay center away from the air cleaner assembly.
  7. Remove the push in retainer from air cleaner assembly to the battery tray.
  8. Remove the air cleaner assembly. See Fig 1 .
  9. Disconnect the fuel flex hoses (1, 5) from the chassis fuel pipes (2, 4). See FUEL LINE QUICK CONNECT FITTINGS  .
  10. Disconnect the fuel flex hoses (1, 5) from the engine fuel pipes. See FUEL LINE QUICK CONNECT FITTINGS  .
  11. Remove the fuel flex hoses. See Fig 2 .
