Chassis Fuel Hose/Pipes: Installation

- Install the fuel pipes. See Figure .
- Position the fuel pipes in the body clips. See Figure .
- Install the fuel pipe mounting bolts into the body clips. Tighten the bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the exhaust heat shield. Tighten the exhaust shield nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove the caps on the fuel pipes.
- Connect the quick-connect fittings at the fuel sender pipes.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Connect the quick-connect fittings at engine compartment fuel feed and return pipes.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Inspect for fuel leaks using the following procedure:
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position for 10 seconds.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position, with the engine OFF.
- Check for fuel leaks.
