Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE (CNG)  under FUEL SYSTEMS (CNG).
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove spare tire cover. Remove jack and tool kit. Remove spare tire. Remove 4 tank cover bolts. Remove tank cover. See Figure.
  4. Remove the tank vent boot cover nuts and the cover. See Figure.
  5. Disconnect the Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor harness connector. See Fig 1.
  6. Remove the FTP sensor from the High Pressure Lock-Off (HPL) solenoid.
