Removal & Installation

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is located at the right rear of engine, between heater hoses.

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  2. Drain the coolant system to below the ECT sensor.
  3. Disconnect the ECT sensor harness connector.
  4. Carefully remove the ECT sensor. See Fig 1.
  5. To install, reverse removal procedures. Coat the threads using sealer (P/N 9985253), or equivalent. Tighten ECT to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Refill the engine cooling system.
