Disassembly Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Shipping regulations prohibit transporting a fuel tank containing CNG. Vent the fuel tank before shipping it.
NOTE: Numbers in text refer to numbered components in illustration. See Figure.

If replacing the tank, remove the following components:

  1. Remove rubber isolators.
  2. Remove Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor (2).
  3. Remove fuel inlet fitting (3) from the tank valve.
  4. Remove fuel outlet fitting (1) from the tank valve.
  5. Remove HPL Pressure Relief Device (PRD) line fitting (4) from the tank valve.
  6. Remove vent boot.
  7. Remove and discard the CNG Fuel Only label from the fill door.
  8. Remove and discard the Bi-fuel Information label from the underhood area.
