Removal & Installation

- Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE (CNG) under FUEL SYSTEMS (CNG) or FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE (GASOLINE) under FUEL SYSTEMS (GASOLINE).
- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Remove the air cleaner resonator.
- Disconnect and mark harness connections and vacuum hoses from throttle body.
- Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve harness connector.
- Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor harness connector.
- Disconnect the vacuum hoses at the throttle body.
- Disconnect the cruise control cable (2) from the throttle body (3) and accelerator bracket (1). See Figure. Remove the accelerator cable bracket.
- Disconnect the accelerator control cable (3) from the throttle body (4) and accelerator bracket (1). See Figure.
- Remove the 2 accelerator bracket nuts (3). See Figure.
- Remove the accelerator bracket (2) from the throttle body (1). See Figure.
- Remove the throttle body attaching bolts and studs (1). See Figure.
- Remove the throttle body (4) from the intake manifold.
- Tighten the throttle body attaching bolts and studs, and accelerator cable bracket nuts to test the accelerator movement by depressing the pedal to the floor and releasing the pedal.
