Throttle Body: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Check the throttle body gasket and replace if necessary.
  2. Install the throttle body to the intake manifold.
  3. Install the throttle body attaching bolts and studs (5). Tighten the throttle body attaching bolts and studs to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the accelerator bracket (2) on the throttle body (1). See Figure. Tighten the accelerator bracket nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Connect the accelerator control cable (3) to the throttle body (4) and accelerator bracket (1). See Figure.
  6. Connect the cruise control cable (2) from the throttle body (3) and accelerator bracket (1). See Figure.
  7. Connect the vacuum hoses to the throttle body.
  8. Connect the TP sensor harness connector.
  9. Connect the IAC valve harness connector.
  10. Install the air cleaner resonator.
  11. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  12. Test the accelerator movement by depressing the pedal to the floor and releasing the pedal.
