Vehicle Speed Sensor: Removal

  1. Turn ignition key to OFF position. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) harness connector (1). See Fig 1 or Fig 2 .
  3. Remove VSS retaining bolt and the VSS from the transaxle.
  4. Inspect the VSS "O" ring for cuts or damage. Replace as necessary.
