Ignition Switch: Removal

Disable the SIR system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
Remove trim covers from the steering column.
Disconnect the ignition switch harness connector (1). See Fig 1 .
Remove the 2 screws (8)(9) and the ignition switch (7). See Fig 1 .
