Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor: Removal

NOTE: Use care when handling the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. Damage to the ECT sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel injection system.

NOTE: The numbers in parenthesis in removal and installation procedures refer to numbered components in referenced figure(s).

Drain the engine coolant into appropriate container.
Disconnect ECT sensor (2) harness connector (1), located next to the upper radiator hose on the cylinder head. See Fig 1 .
Remove ECT sensor (2).
