BRAKELIGHT Switch: Installation

  1. Install the brakelight switch (1) to the brake pedal bracket (3). Secure the brakelight switch (1) using one lock nut (2). See Figure . Do not tighten at this time.
  2. Adjust the brakelight switch clearance.
    • Connect brakelight switch harness connector.
    • Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten clamp bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
    • Turn brakelight switch (2) until the switch lightly contacts the pedal stopper. See Fig 1 .
    • Verify the distance between the end of the brakelight switch plunger and the end of the threaded portion of the brakelight switch is 0.02-0.094" (0.5-2.4 mm). See Fig 1 .
  3. Tighten brakelight switch (1) lock nut (2) to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . See Figure .
