Outer Tie Rod End: Installation

  1. Install the outer tie rod to the inner tie rod. See Figure .
  2. Connect the tie rod to the knuckle.
  3. Use the tie rod installer to seat the ball stud taper to specification. See Fig 1 . See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Remove the tie rod installer.
  5. Install a new tie rod retention nut. See Figure . Tighten nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  6. Install the front tire assembly.
  7. Check the wheel alignment.
