Brakes Self Apply When Turning Steering Wheel

  1. Were you sent here from SYMPTOM LIST under GENERAL DIAGNOSIS under TROUBLESHOOTING? If so, go to next step. If not, see HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM  under DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINTS under TROUBLESHOOTING.
  2. Inspect the steering system for proper operation. See DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT under TROUBLESHOOTING in appropriate POWER RECIRCULATING BALL article in STEERING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  4. If not, go to next step.
  3. Inspect the brake assist system for proper operation. See BRAKE ASSIST SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS  under TROUBLESHOOTING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to next step. If not, see HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM  under DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINTS under TROUBLESHOOTING.
  4. Road test the vehicle in order to confirm proper operation. See BRAKE SYSTEM VEHICLE ROAD TEST  under SYSTEM TESTS. Is the condition still present? If so, go to step  2. If not, system is okay.
