Installation (2500 & 3500 Series)

  1. Install the actuator lever to the backing plate.
  2. Install the park brake shoe. See PARK BRAKE SHOES .
  3. Adjust the park brake shoe. See PARK BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION.
  4. Install the rotor. See BRAKE ROTOR .
  5. Install the rear park brake cable to the park brake actuator lever. See Figure.
  6. Tighten the nut to the intermediate cable at the equalizer. Tighten the nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Remove the safety stands.
  9. Lower vehicle.
  10. Adjust park brake cable. See PARK BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION.
