Test A: All Gauges Inoperative

  1. If Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If IPC diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Start engine. If no gauges operate properly, go to next step. If any gauges operate properly, check for intermittent or poor connections.
  3. Test ignition 1 voltage circuit of instrument panel cluster for an open, high resistance, or a short to ground. If condition is found, repair as necessary and go to step  7 . If no condition is found, go to next step.
  4. Check for open, high resistance or short to ground in Pink wire between instrument panel fuse block GAUGES fuse (10-amp) and Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) harness connector terminal B17. See Figure . If Pink wire is okay, go to next step. If Pink wire is not okay, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step  7 .
  5. Check for open or high resistance in Black/White wire between ground and IPC harness connector terminal B13. If Black/White wire is okay, go to next step. If Black/White wire is not okay, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step  7 .
  6. Replace IPC. After repair, go to next step.
  7. Operate system to verify fault no longer exists. If fault still exists, go to step  2 .
