Fuel Level Sender: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Loosen fuel filler cap to relieve tank vapor pressure. Remove engine cover.
  2. Connect fuel pressure gauge to fuel pressure connection. Wrap a shop towel around fitting to avoid spillage. Relieve fuel system pressure into approved container.
  3. Drain fuel tank. Remove fuel tank. Remove fuel sender assembly. Disconnect fuel pump and fuel level sender electrical connectors. See Fig 1 . Remove fuel level sender retaining clip. Squeeze locking tangs and remove fuel level sender.
